so guys how do paint your necrons? I start witha base coat of chaos black, then i drybrush the whole thing (cept for the gauss flayer)with boltgun metal, than i highlight details with mirthril silver.Than i paint the face plate, sholder pads and the chest plate dark angels green and paint the eyes and the little symbols on their chests with graveyard earth. Then i insert the green rod and TAA DAH NECRONS...just like mamma used to make em....

I'm working on a colour schemes now, at the moment I undercoat with Chaos Black spray, then paint entire model with watered down boltgun, then paint over this with brown ink. The dab boltgun over the top (dab - means get very little paint on brush as you would do for dry brush but then dab it on) this leaves you with a nice rusty base. I currently working on the adding destinctive colours to this to make it a little more interesting, at present the best is a painting the face and shoulder pads in bleached bone, then drybrushing them with a 50/50 bleached bone/skull white, then drybrushing that with skull white. After this just a matter of painting the little bits. What I haven't worked out yet is a good colour scheme for the weapons. Anty suggestions would be welcome.

I like the whole egyptian theme, honestly. Like that AWESOME mono. on the other forums.. I forget exactly which one.. but whateva'... I basecoat mine black, then I paint the "skeleton" parts (i.e. the knee, legs (but not the calf), elbows, shoulders, etc.) boltgun metal. Then I go over the "muscle" parts (i.e. the chest, the thighs, the forearms, etc.) with this tanish colour (It's not an offical GW Colour...) The skull and shoulderblades then get painted white. The white skull is a must! looks so cool. Minior details are picked out either with that Hawk Turqouiste colour, scorpion green, or yellow.
Btw... here's meh' first post, hurray.
